| Torre del Tenente is located at the highest point and at the edge of the tiny picturesque hamlet of Acqualoreto, complete with church, small shop and bar. With stupendous all round views across some of Umbria’s most beautiful countryside, Torre del Tenente enjoys a unique combination –proximity to an idyllic, small hamlet yet maintaining a degree of aloofness and privacy, a legacy from its fascinating past. Sensitively refurbished and built on three floors, we could not imagine a more romantic and indeed ideal place for a writer, painter – or just honeymooners! Extremely comfortable, a “home from home”, two sitting rooms ensure further privacy for two couples,whilst also enjoying companiable togetherness. Every comfort has been thought of – it is, after all, the owners home ( in the summer time she moves to a small cottage in the grounds, maintaining a discreet and unobtrusive presence, whilst often being on hand to meet her new guests.)Entertaining is fabulous: elegant dining with log fires in the Autumn months and al fresco in the summer, with a patio off the sitting room complete with an Umbrian panorama as a backdrop. The beautiful terraced gardens, with lawns and old fashioned roses abounding, leads down to the pool area –enjoying the same stunning views. Within easy reach of Florence or Assisi,this wonderful house has to be savoured and enjoyed. |
