| These small villages have changed very little and there is still a real sense of stepping aside from modern times when you stay here.The villa is quite modern and has recently been refurbished. It is surrounded by trees, but from the upper terrace there are marvellous views down across the hillsides, to the sparkling sea and as far as the island of Lefkada that lies further south. There is a choice of outdoor sitting areas, whether sun or shade is your preference, and memorable meals can be enjoyed on the sea-facing terrace. A flight of stone steps bordered by oleanders leads to the pool and barbecue areas. Villa Paparouna is only a few minutes from some useful shops in Magazia, while a ten minute drive brings you to Gaios or Loggos and some lovely beaches. The fantastic Erimitis cliffs are not far from here, and it is well worth visiting the nearby viewpoints, or spending an evening at ‘The Sunset Bar’, where, as you might imagine, there are superb views of the setting sun and the rosy light effects on the white cliff faces. |
