| There is a certain wildness about the area that is the perfect antidote to the routines of most people’s daily life. Every visitor to Paxos makes a point of seeing Erimitis Bay, with its mighty cliffs and the subtle colour variations in its deep waters. The view changes with every shift in the weather, every alteration in the light. When the westerlies blow, the surf crashes on the rocks and the spray creates rainbows and thousands of seabirds wheel and scream. But it is at sunset that the view is at its most splendid,when the whole cliff face is suffused with pink. Guests staying at our new property, Erimitis Bay House, are fortunate in that this incredible view is theirs to enjoy whenever they wish. It works its own magic on jaded senses. The owner of the villa has wisely kept the interior of the house simple, knowing that nothing can compete with the natural beauty outside, but he has provided plenty of outdoor spaces for pleasurable lounging and sunbathing, and a good-sized swimming pool. Everything is conveniently located on one ground floor level and the rooms open on to the surrounding terraces. There are still very few villas on the west coast, and certainly even fewer that have the benefit of such a stunning setting. Tiny Magazia, with a few useful shops is about 5 minutes drive away, and Gaios, Lakka and Loggos no more than 15 minutes drive. Part of the road down to the villa is unmade for 1.1km. Solar energy is employed in the heating and pumping of water. |
