| The owner of this delightful house admits to a passion for France and a love of the traditional buildings of Paxos – two factors which combine in the design of Lithia House to great effect.The house is situated on a family estate of some 7 acres, which it shares with another two houses including Orkos House. In an elevated position, Lithia House has views of the sea and the Greek mainland, framed by the gnarled old olive trees that surround it, their roots contained by typical stone terraces. A short walk down a rocky path through the trees leads to Orkos Beach, with lots of shade from overhanging trees and the crystal waters unique to Paxos. There is a traditional feel to this new house – a relative rustic appeal enhanced by painted furniture and subtle colour effects.The open-plan living area is light and airy with its high wooden roof, and opens on to a pleasant covered terrace for outdoor living, right beside the pool. Slightly off the beaten track, in delightful natural surroundings, with Lakka and its beautiful harbour, a favourite with yachtsmen, only 2kms away, but also walkable via steep track and steps. |
