Hera House, with neighbouring Villa Agni, echoes the current trend for houses with lots of windows that bring the fabulous views indoors, and for coolly minimalist furnishings and decoration. This contemporary approach works very well with villas such as this, where the surroundings and views speak for themselves and require no elaboration. Ground floor rooms open on to the lovely pool terrace, with shaded outdoor dining area and barbecue. The views are beautiful, down the tree-filled valley to the sea, where two headlands form a perfect frame for a dramatic glimpse of the Albanian mountains opposite. Thanks to its walls, and its position, angled into the hillside, Hera House is a remarkably private house, yet by no means isolated or secluded, with the beach, restaurants and smart new café at Agni just a short walk away. (NB Access to the house is down a short but quite steep driveway).
