| Just moments from the glorious stretch of white sand at Galleon Beach and up a steep driveway, you will discover the delightful wooden cottages Twinkle and K’ai Etoile and then Moondance itself. These enchanting homes are decorated throughout with an eclectic mix of Caribbean antiques, comfy furniture and artefacts from around the world. Original works commissioned by local artists hang on earthy coloured walls and silk saris serve as opulent curtains. Moondance is a three bedroom delight; the Tuscan inspired kitchen, cut from Guyanese purple heartwood, and the sophisticated living areas, seamlessly join with their exposed beamed roofs and hardwood floors. The owner’s passion for local craft is apparent in the profusion of heavily glazed, brightly coloured, handmade ceramics, especially in the bathrooms, where you will also find outdoor showers in screened gardens and even a giant clam shell acting as a hand basin. The heart of the house is the beautiful, decked garden veranda with its relaxed sitting area, Jacuzzi and magnificent dining table that can seat up to fourteen. The veranda overlooks the pool terrace where there is a good size wooden sun deck inset with a kidney shaped swimming pool. Twinkle and K’ai Etoile are two perfectly formed one bedroom cottages; well equipped and with similar interior design as Moondance they provide charming and romantic accommodation for couples. Each has sea views and a private balcony and they share a small terraced garden. The two cottages Twinkle and K’ai Etoile can be rented separately, each as completely individual units from the main villa. In such cases guests of the cottages do not have use of the villa’s swimming pool as the owner will remain in residence. |
