Taroudant
Made wealthy over the centuries by the rich soil of the Sous plain, Taroudant is an old fortified town encircled by ramparts. This fascinating and lively place is one of the best preserved ancient towns of Morocco. The saily Berber market sells everything from spices to local handicraft. It is worth spending some time exploring the stunning vistas and delightful villages of teh Anti and High Atlas mountains.

This is a very special hotel, one that aims to provide the perfect setting for a totally self-indulgent, utterly restorative stay. 30 stone cottages are spread about a 250-acre property of parkland, gardens and orange groves. The hotel is exquisitely furnished throughout with unusual antiques and artifacts, and each bedroom combines traditional Moroccan and contemporary European styles. The food is superb and much of it comes from the hotel’s own organic farm.
