| Kasbah Agafay is the perfect setting in which to live out dreams and fantasies about Morocco, while cocooned in the comfort we expect of a five-star hotel. Here is the one-time hilltop fort, the inspiring views of desert dunes and Berber villages on the one side, endless olive groves defined by the towering Atlas Mountains on the other. The fourteen suites are set around six private riad-style courtyards with fountains, and are superbly decorated with original Moroccan antiques and artifacts, At the heart of the Kasbah is a sea-green swimming pool surrounded by rose bushes. The sound of water is never far away – there is even a waterfall cascading down the garden terraces. In addition to the suites that offer very flexible arrangements for individuals or groups, there are four large tented suites, authentic Moroccan Caidal tents that enjoy glorious sunset views, have four-poster beds made from old nomad beams draped with antique textiles, and are supplied with sculptured mosaic baths – camping at its most luxurious! The tents have their own private gardens or terrace and two of the larger ones accommodate families. An aromatic herb garden is tucked away in a corner of the gardens – the perfect setting for the Kasbah’s cookery school where the chef will be instructing interested guests in the art of Moroccan cuisine. |
