The second of the two guesthouses belonging to the El Abbadi family, Le Riad Maison Bleue was a ruin until renovated and redecorated in the same elegantly traditional style as the original Maison Bleue. With three inter-connecting courtyards, one of which is open to the sky and contains a pretty swimming pool and fruit trees, the Riad displays that intriguing sense of space, colour and tranquility, wrapped in high walls, available only to those who may penetrate its huge gates. Breakfasts are served on the roof terrace with its fine views of the medina and the ancient rock tombs.
