Son Net

This is without doubt one of the most luxurious, unusual and colourful hotels in Spain. Within the coral-coloured walls of a three-floor palace, set on a hillside above the village of Puigpunyent, are elegant public rooms and just 31 bedrooms, each one unique in style, all with wonderful mountain views and some with private pool.

Many of the furnishings are antique, but there is an undoubted lightness of touch about the colour schemes – nothing fusty or dusty here. Enormous bedrooms, some with private terraces, with exquisite beds, are complemented by spacious bathrooms with marble baths. The palace is home to a fabulous collection of modern art, with works by artists such as Hockney, Chagall and Warhol – much envied by certain celebrity guests.

There is a wonderful swimming pool, designed to permit guests to swim serious lengths, with one deep side rather than just a deep end. Pool cabanas are allocated to guests and the service at the pool is unusually attentive and efficient. There are plenty of possibilities for activities in the vicinity of the hotel, but with a fine restaurant serving Mediterranean food, much of it using ingredients grown in the hotel gardens, a pleasingly friendly service, and that superb pool, you are likely to find all you need for a very special holiday within the garden walls of Son Net.

Room Description

Classic rooms are spacious and airy single or double rooms with a generously sized bathroom.

Superior rooms are larger with a King sized bed, and can accommodate and extra bed if required.

Deluxe rooms are spacious and elegant rooms located on the top floor and offer panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and hotel gardens.

Deluxe Pool Villas offer King Size beds, a spacious lounge area with a cosy gas fired chimney. External doors lead directly onto a private garden with Jacuzzi and swimming pool shared among the 4 villas. The large bathrooms include walk-in shower and bath.

Gran Suites are located on the first floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the swimming pool and hotel gardens. The separate bedroom features a King Size bed and a large, all marble bathroom.

The main restaurant is an intimate and stylish setting where the chef and his team offer a selection of innovative Mallorcan dishes, applying modern techniques to locally sourced ingredients. In the summer months there is also a poolside restaurant.

Spa & Wellness

The beauty & treatment centre  delivers a holistic approach to wellness by an expert practitioner, yoga master and experienced Pilates teacher. Massages can be enjoyed either in the La Fuente centre in the hotel or in the privacy of a poolside cabana in the open air.

Activities

There are some great cycling routes in the area, and the hotel has a selection of excellent quality aluminium or carbon road bikes to be available for hire.

For that prefer their own momentum, there is also a selection of planned walk itineraries available.

Your Location

The village of Piugpunyent is a short walk from the hotel, here there is a small but interesting selection of trattoria's and restaurants, and a handful of shops.

Palma itself is just a half hour drive away, and easy to access by car or taxi. Here there is an abundance of shops, boutiques and eateries, and also some very interesting museum and cultural sites to visit.

There are 4 golf courses, all within a half hour drive of the hotel, and great to play on year-round.

The horse stables are a 10 minute drive from the hotel, here everyone is catered for from beginners to advanced riders, and the opportunity to explore the Tramuntana National Park should not be missed.

Wine tasting, hot air ballooning, rock climbing, kayaking and helicopter tours are amongst some of the many other activities available in the area.
