Olivers Petit

Sleeps up to: 4

Within strollable reach of Old Alcudia’s sands, shops and restaurants – yet enveloped in the character of the countryside, this little house is really rustic and rather special.

Sympathetically restored recreating its rustic origins with imaginative finishing touches, this sweet cosy cottage is ideal for a couple or small family. Charmingly simple, inside and out, its delightful open terrace seems unchanged since the cottage was built with ivy climbing and curling around its posts and beams, and morning glory tumbling over the top to provide cool shade. There is ample sunbathing space on the poolside terrace and clusters of mature trees catch the breeze in the grounds. Within the house are two bedrooms, a beamed sitting/dining room, kitchen and bathroom. Local attractions include golf and horse riding at Pollensa and, in Alcudia, tennis courts, a stunning beach and a feast of restaurants just ten minutes walk from the house.

Destination introduction

At the foot of the Formentor peninsula, Puerto Pollensa looks onto a blissful south-facing bay where a vast expanse of sand meets shallow waters as blue as the sky. Behind it are the craggy cliffs and pine-scented slopes of the Sierra de Tramuntana. Puerto Pollensa’s popularity comes as no surprise but there is a second dimension for visitors to enjoy – for inland is the old town of Pollensa, an atmospheric labyrinth of cobbled streets and ochre sandstone houses, centred on the picturesque Plaza Mayor, and its unmissable Sunday market. Tuesday is market day at the lovely traditional village of Campanet and the old town of Alcúdia, with its Roman theatre, is worth exploring any day, both are just 15km away.
