Fata Morgana

The Italian translation of ‘Fata Morgana’ refers to the fairy half sister of King Arthur, infamous for creating optical phenomena, and this shimmering villa that looks as if it could disappear at a moment’s notice certainly lives up to its name.

Within easy reach of beaches, some excellent restaurants, and the larger towns of Ibiza Town and Santa Eulalia, Fata Morgana is well situated. This fabulous marble villa follows Moorish tradition with a profusion of domes, cupolas and intricate lattice work that permits light to infiltrate the house in subtle ways. Water is an important feature, with several indoor fountains and a solar-heated pool in the central courtyard flanked by cloistered walkways. The immaculate garden has its own pond and irrigation channels, and yet the most outstanding of the water features is the second swimming pool – a huge infinity pool accented by a stunning elevated sun deck. With a Bedouin tent for outdoor dining, a domed gazebo overlooking the gardens, with cushioned couches everywhere, Fata Morgana is a truly inspirational house enjoying a private position on top of a hill, surrounded by pine woods and breathtaking views.
