Destination Information

Lying just to the west of the flash of Marbella and to the south of the pretty Sierra de Ronda mountain range, San Pedro has a definitive, refreshing, unspoilt charm of its own born out of an ancient farming community working on sugarcane crops. The small streets leading o the central plaza are home to a collection of interesting shops, bars and cafés, with Thursday market day. Stroll down to the beach and you will find the promenade punctuated with welcoming chiringuitos, where fish dishes are a speciality.

Beaches

San Pedro de Alcántara

A very pleasant, sandy beach made up of volcanic sand (425m long, 25m deep) with Jet-ski rental, numerous restaurants, open-air bars and a pretty promenade.

Lindavista

Easily accessible, this white sand beach has calm waters (1km long, 40m deep), Jet-ski rental is available.

Events and festivals

January 5th - Cabalgata de Los Reyes (Three Holy Kings/Wise Men). Traditional Spanish celebrations.

February 28th - Andalucia Day. A public holiday for the Andalucia Region.

Semana Santa (Holy Week) - Religious events & processions leading up to Easter weekend.

Mid October - The Feria de San Pedro de Alcantara, or the San Pedro fair, is held every year in October. This is a time when the city dresses itself up with lights, fireworks, song and dance to celebrate the Patron Saint of San Pedro.
