Vila Monte

The Vila Monte Resort is hidden away in the glorious surroundings of the rural Algarve, yet is only 25 kms from Faro Airport and 10 kms from the superb beaches of the region. Its origins as an Andalusian manor house are evident in its pleasing layout, with immaculate gardens of Moorish style, where mature trees, lawns, exotic plants and pools provide a tranquil backdrop to the beautifully designed accommodation. There are four separate ‘villas’, each containing several rooms and suites, 54 in all,  decorated in subtle colours, spacious and well-equipped. The Algarve, of course, appeals to golf-lovers, and this small hotel provides a very pleasant alternative to the large golf resorts, with its intimate and relaxing atmosphere. It has its own 3-hole Pitch & Putt course, driving range, putting greens and golf academy, and reduced green fees can be arranged at the four 18-hole golf courses that are in the vicinity. Vila Monte has a number of other sports and leisure activities to offer, including three outdoor pools, a tennis court, sun terraces and several spa and beauty facilities.

The resort restaurant, Orangerie, consistently earns praise and awards for the excellence of its food, with cuisine based on locally grown and sourced ingredients and many regional dishes.

With Vila Monte as a comfortable base for exploration of the area, there is plenty to see and enjoy, including the largest fishing port of the Algarve, Olhao, and the exceptionally beautiful and elegant old town of Tavira with its fine architecture and quiet beaches.

Room Description

Rooms are distributed among 4 guest houses, scattered around the grounds.

Standard rooms are located in the Riad, Vila Indigo or Kasbah houses and have garden views. Can be twin or double bedded.

Superior rooms are located in the Riad or Vila Indigo, with views of the garden.  They are double or twin bedded, and can also accommodate an extra person.

Junior suite is in the Orangerie and has a double or twin bedded room, a living room, and shared roof terrace. An additional bed is possible.

Suites are double or twin bedded with a living room where the sofa bed can take an extra 2 people. There is a private terrace and sea or countryside view.

1001 Nights suites are in the Riad or Kasbah houses and have a bedroom with sitting area.

Vizir Suite is a master suite located in the Orangerie.  It has a private terrace with jacuzzi.

The Orangerie Restaurant serves a fine selection of gourmet dishes using many ingredients grown on the estate, as well as locally sourced produce. The Bar and Pool Bar are popular meeting places.

Your Location

There are 30 golf courses scattered around the Algarve which can be easily accessed from the hotel.  But for those with different interests there is also a wealth of cultural and historical interest in the surrounding towns and villages, and of course the beautiful beaches of the Algarve are just a few minutes drive away.
