Destination introduction
Carvoeiro was a traditional, small fishing village surviving on tuna catches . It has since developed and become a very popular resort.
There are plenty of shops in the town for your everyday needs. There is an Intermarché on the Lagoa road on the outskirts of Carvoeiro for even more choice.
The town beach, Praia do Carvoeiro is a beautifully sheltered sandy bay and spreads out just in front of the square with cliffs protecting it on either side.
There is a huge selection of bars, restaurants and cafés all within easy walking distance of the centre and with a wide choice of food.

• Monthly market in front of Fatacil in Lagoa on the 2nd Sunday of every month
• Monthly market in Ferragudo on the 2nd Sunday of the month
• Monthly market in Estombar at the Fairs and Exhibitions Park on the last Saturday of every month
