Casa Jacaranda

A golfer’s paradise, this fine house has a prime position in the grounds of the famous Penina Golf Course. Its own tennis court adds a rare sporting attraction.

With big sofas and bags of cushions, airy bedrooms and cane furnished terraces, this is a large and welcoming house, designed with comfort in mind. An antique-tiled entrance hall leads into the stylish drawing room at the heart of the house. This room, in turn, opens onto the huge shaded terrace which stretches the length of the spacious building and overlooks carefully tended gardens. The one hectare grounds are home to a tennis court (lessons can be arranged) and attractive swimming pool, which can be fenced off from the garden and main house. There’s also a shower and changing room by the pool, a barbecue area in the garden, and loungers, chairs and a sofa swing strategically placed for dining or relaxing. In addition to the main house, which accommodates up to 8 including two children, Casa Jacaranda has a fully self-contained poolside casita, which offers independence to a further four guests. A staffed villa in a sporty spot! Note: The owners’ bedroom is kept locked and is not available for rent.

A local cook can be provided at this property, giving everyone the opportunity to really relax whilst away. This increasingly popular option can provide the service for given meals, or for multiple meals during the course of your holiday. and can work out extremely cost effective over restaurant prices. Cooks are on request and do need to be booked well in advance to avoid disappointment. They are usually payable locally at an hourly rate.

Destination introduction

The pretty narrow streets of this old coastal village boast many different types of restaurants and bars with live music, making for a vibrant atmosphere. However just off of these streets are reminders of this old fishing village’s past. Facing a natural lagoon, views from Alvor open out on to the sea, with a choice of long open sandy beaches, and smaller coves hidden away in the cliffs to explore. The main entrance to the village church is a fine example of the great craftsmanship associated with the Manueline era.
