Described as 'one of the friendliest hotels in Venice', the American is situated in the colourful and classically Venetian surroundings of Dorsoduro, a residential area that offers visitors a glimpse of the city as it really is. Between the Accademia Museum and the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, and within walking distance of St Mark’s Square and Rialto, it would be hard to find a better base from which to explore this wonderful and complex city.
It is a pleasure to retreat to the genteel charm of this hotel at the end of a day of sightseeing. Rooms are decorated with traditional Venetian-style furnishings including hand-painted furniture and Murano glass chandeliers, enhanced by the comforts of modern life.
Standard rooms have en suite bathrooms, and can be single or double occupancy and some can take a third bed.
Superior rooms are of a similar size but have the added benefit of a view of the picturesque canal.
Room facilities:- Air conditioning • Heating • En suite bathroom • Satellite TV • Mini-bar • Hairdryer • Safe • Internet access.
The hotel itself only offers breakfast, but there are several small, intimate restaurants tucked away in the surrounding area which offer a more traditional fare away from the crowds.
Starts from £310 per person based on 2 sharing a standard room for 4 nights, and including flights and breakfast.
Prices are for guidance only and are subject to availability, and your own personal requirements. Please call for a fully tailored quotation.

Located on the quaint San Vio canal in the Dorsoduro area, Piazza San Marco is about a 15-20 minute walk away, and the majority of the sights and museums are all easily reached either on foot or by waterbus.
Venice is composed of more than a hundred tiny islets, packed closely together around canals. The city is in a lagoon, protected from the sea by a long strip of land called the Lido.
