Podere Casemasce

Sleeps up to: 10

With a winning combination of contemporary furnishings, wide lawned gardens, a good pool area, plenty of shade, magnificent far-reaching views and excellent staff, Podere Casemasce is a good choice for guests of all ages.

The young owners of this special house have decorated their much loved home in subtle neutral tones complemented by interesting decorative pieces, classical prints and splashes of bold colour. The overall tone is gently modern - fresh and sophisticated. A magnificent luminous space, the ground floor is divided into a more 'grown-up' sitting area with cream sofas, a dining area in the centre adjacent to the ultra modern kitchen and an informal sitting room with brightly patterned floor cushions, sofas and TV. Big windows and doors bring light and the magnificent views into every room.

Panoramic terraces wrap around two sides of the villa and are partly covered and furnished with a sofa, chairs and dining furniture. The pretty bedrooms on the first floor also enjoy magnificent views. From the lower ground floor, panoramic doors also open out to the extensive lawned gardens of two hectares, with plenty of space for games. The large pool with gazebo is set in a sheltered corner of the gardens.

Suited to two families or a spoiling choice for one family, guests love the informality, decor and privacy of Podere Casemasce, just 9km from Todi, one of central Italy's loveliest towns.

"Just thought I would drop you a line to tell you that my clients really loved [Podere Casemasce], they could not find fault with anything and they would go again at the drop of a hat. This is great news as they are very hard to please and do like things just so."

"Beautiful setting of the house, charm of the maid..so lovely and helpful."

Welcome Provisions included

A welcome gesture to offer you a drink after your journey; tea or coffee and biscuits, wine or juice and a snack. They are not sufficient for an entire meal. Owners will also generally leave a few other items to get you going such as some salt, sugar, oil, bin bags and toilet paper.

Food Hamper
Can be arranged for an additional cost, payable locally including a 30 Euro service charge. For guests who are arriving late or who recognize they may be delayed and arrive with no time to do shopping. Shops are shut on Sundays, so the aim of the Food Hampers is to provide two light meals and two breakfasts, to allow guests to go out for one meal, then do more shopping on Monday. We can adapt these hampers to take into account allergies, dislikes and dietary requirements, or according to whether there are children in the party.

Cook Service

You may book the cook service at Podere Casemasce by filling in the cook questionnaire.  The cook is happy to prepare meals and leave them at the house, for you to simply heat up. She may also be available to wait at table occasionally, by request, at an extra hourly rate of €15 per hour. The cook does not usually work on Sundays or Italian public holidays, however under particular circumstances this might  be possible, by local arrangement.  She will shop for the meals she cooks.

Prices and Booking

We charge a one-off booking fee payable in advance of departure directly to CV Travel London.

The options are:

a) Three meals per week - Cost: €290.00 (plus the cost of the food to be paid locally to the cook) for meals prepared in advance for tenants to heat up.

AND/OR

b) One evening per week (e.g. Saturday arrival meal, to be left for you):

Cost: €100.00 (plus the cost of the food to be paid locally to the cook) for meals prepared in advance for tenants to heat up. Any extra service arranged locally (such as waiting at table, when/if the cook is available) should be paid direct to the cook at a rate of €15 per hour.

If you are happy with these arrangements, we need to know very soon if you would like the cook’s services, to book her well ahead of time. We would therefore be grateful if you could complete the cook questionnaire and return it to us as soon as possible so that she is informed well in time that you would like her to cook for your party. Please note that the cook service is not available on Sundays or on Public Holidays.

Shopping

We suggest you stop on the way to the house and shop for ‘basics’ and food for breakfasts on Sunday and Monday morning.  Most shops will be closed on Sunday though there is one fair sized supermarket in Orvieto (Super Conti) that is open all day on Sunday.  However, if you are arriving late (planes can be delayed), you may wish to a order a Food Hamper (enough for two light meals, 2 breakfasts, plus ‘basics’ - see the Travel Directory in the CV Italy brochure).

Note

We would like to emphasise that cooks have family commitments or may become ill, and we cannot promise that they will always be available to prepare meals as requested.  Therefore it must be understood that this is a goodwill service on the part of CV Travel, and that the arrangements outlined in this letter cannot be conditional on the booking either prior to or during the holiday.  However should your cook become unavailable, you will be reimbursed CV’s booking fee, as detailed in the Travel Directory.

An English speaking CV representative in Italy will be available by phone during your stay. Contact details will be sent with your travel documents.

Destination introduction

Those seeking relaxation will find it in abundance amid the tranquillity of Umbria's rolling hills, covered with vines and olives, cypresses, pines, oaks and chestnut trees. It is here where a wide variety of our selected villas are discreetly hidden. For those wishing to combine relaxation with day trips to towns and villages or more active pursuits, Umbria offers a wide choice. From Etruscan through Roman, mediaeval and Renaissance times, the region contains a wealth of evidence of its varied past.

An easy drive from Rome, Pisa or Perugia, Southern Umbria's hill top towns dominate the green countryside. One of our favourite hill towns is Orvieto with its beautiful mosaic fronted cathedral, cobbled streets, good restaurants and twice-weekly market, making it a popular choice for day trips with guests staying in our nearby villas. The hill town of Todi with its attractive historical centre, stunning piazza and breathtaking views draw weekend visitors from Rome and it is a good spot for an evening stroll and ice cream.‑

For those staying near the Lazio border, a day trip to Rome is a must. Home of the Vatican, the first stop for most visitors is the wealth of artistic treasures in its museums. There is too much to take in on one day but the Roman Forum and Colosseum are an easy walk from the central shopping streets, as well as the pretty cobbled streets of the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps and Piazza Navona.

Our fabulous collection of luxury villas in Umbria offer a fascinating range of styles and group sizes, perfect for small family get-togethers as well as larger groups.
