Le Crete

Sleeps up to: 9

Le Crete is an extremely comfortable stately looking house with extensive lawned gardens, modern furnishings and magnificent Umbrian views.

CV clients have already fallen in love with the classic rural beauty of the landscape around the town of Orvieto, and many of them have returned time after time to the lovely La Cassetta. We are very happy that the owners of this well-established favourite have now offered us Le Crete built in the same local style of La Cassetta, but there the resemblance ends!

Within the traditional farmhouse walls, the owners have created a house that is completely in tune with today. The customary architecture of thick stone walls, wooden ceilings, and brick arches remains reassuringly intact, but there is a more modern, lighter touch with colour and decoration.

With pale wood floors and 42" plasma TV, the sitting room extends for the full length of the villa and some prints of Rome ibn in the entrance hall add a classical touch.

The kitchen is spectacular - an air-conditioned ultra modern glased-in room of breathtaking Italian design, a dream work space for any keen cook!

All bedrooms have excellent en suite facilities. On the first floor there is a ery spacious double bedroom and twin bedroom with three further self-contained bedrooms in the guest annexe.

The layout of the garden contributes greatly to the suitability of this property as a family holiday villa – the lawns are flat and descend gently to the beautiful long pool – equipped with a jet current and electric cover to retain the heat of the day.

Set into a gently sloping hillside, the villa commands pleasing views over the gentle countryside – the perfect backdrop to outdoor meals and relaxation on the vine covered terrace.

With bedrooms in the main house and a further three in the separately accessed annexe, this house is ideal for parties wishing for 'separate but together' accommodation, families with older children or a luxurious base for a family.

The house exudes just the right amount of quiet charm to make it very hard to leave when the villa holiday is over.

Cook Service

The housekeeper is willing to cook simple meals for your party. She usually cooks in the evenings, and she can leave a light luncheon for Sunday.  However, under particular circumstances, she may cook lunch instead of an evening meal, or by local arrangement, she may cook lunches and/or prepare breakfasts for you as well. The cook also helps clearing up the table but she does not stay later than 21h00-21h30. She will shop for the meals she cooks, and her fees include time taken shopping and time taken travelling.

Arrival Weekend, Saturday evening meal, plus a light luncheon left for the Sunday – Cost 100 Euro plus the cost of food, to be paid locally to the cook

Three meals per week Cost 210 Euro per week plus the cost of food, to be paid locally to the cook.

The cook service is available on request. A booking fee for this service is payable in advance to CV Travel. If you are happy with these arrangements, we need to know very soon if you would like the cook’s services, to book her well ahead of time. We would therefore be grateful if you ask for and complete the cook questionnaire and return it to us as soon as possible so that she is informed well in time that you would like her to cook for your party.

Destination introduction

Those seeking relaxation will find it in abundance amid the tranquillity of Umbria's rolling hills, covered with vines and olives, cypresses, pines, oaks and chestnut trees. It is here where a wide variety of our selected villas are discreetly hidden. For those wishing to combine relaxation with day trips to towns and villages or more active pursuits, Umbria offers a wide choice. From Etruscan through Roman, mediaeval and Renaissance times, the region contains a wealth of evidence of its varied past.

An easy drive from Rome, Pisa or Perugia, Southern Umbria's hill top towns dominate the green countryside. One of our favourite hill towns is Orvieto with its beautiful mosaic fronted cathedral, cobbled streets, good restaurants and twice-weekly market, making it a popular choice for day trips with guests staying in our nearby villas. The hill town of Todi with its attractive historical centre, stunning piazza and breathtaking views draw weekend visitors from Rome and it is a good spot for an evening stroll and ice cream.‑

For those staying near the Lazio border, a day trip to Rome is a must. Home of the Vatican, the first stop for most visitors is the wealth of artistic treasures in its museums. There is too much to take in on one day but the Roman Forum and Colosseum are an easy walk from the central shopping streets, as well as the pretty cobbled streets of the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps and Piazza Navona.

Our fabulous collection of luxury villas in Umbria offer a fascinating range of styles and group sizes, perfect for small family get-togethers as well as larger groups.
