Podere Granaiole

Sleeps up to: 16

Podere Granaiole has been cleverly designed to combine contemporary style and modern comfort in a beautifully spacious former farm building. Effortlessly in tune with its classic hilltop setting, guests can appreciate the sublime views of the Val D’Orcia from the privacy of the large dining terrace and pool.

Having restored other properties in the area, the architect and interior designer owners carefully planned the conversion of Casellaccia, successfully creating a stylish and exceptional property which is perfect for groups of friends or family.

With the privacy of their guests in mind, the eight bedrooms all have en suite bathrooms, each one furnished to the same high standard, distinct in colour and style. Every room is light and airy with wooden beamed ceilings and carefully chosen colourful furnishings. Off season, comfort is still the priority with under floor heating, a beautiful dining area for up to 20 people and a relaxing and comfortable sitting area.

Catering for large groups is easy with the help of the excellent cook, who can provide meals on request. The well equipped kitchen boasts two large ovens and a double sized fridge with ice dispenser while the large shaded outside eating area is geared to large groups of up to 20.

The house is surrounded by three acres of lawned gardens, an orchard and gardens. The luxury of wallowing in the hot tub or cooling off in the 20 metre pool is enjoyed by all who stay there.

Destination introduction

It is to the panoramic open agricultural landscapes of the 'senese', the area of Tuscany south of Siena where many return. Delight in sampling the local wines in 'enoteche' of the wine centres of Montalcino and Montepulciano, enjoy the classic vistas from Pope Pius II's Renaissance jewel, Pienza or bathe in the thermal springs at Bagno Vignoni with its view over abandoned hill top fortifications. All these places are easily accessible from one of our villas in the ever changing landscape of the Val d'Orcia, and located not far from our villas at Cetona, an atmospheric and undiscovered jewel of a hill town, the retreat of the literary and artistic.

Dramatically placed on a hillside overlooking the valley of Valdichiana, with views of Lake Trasimeno and Monte Amiata, is the Tuscan hill town of Cortona. Whether it's a wander through the cobbled streets, a visit to the antiques market or a delicious al fresco meal in one of the trattorie, a visit to Cortona should not be missed as part of a Tuscan holiday.
