La Torretta

Sleeps 2 + 2

The search for the perfect small property is never easy. La Torretta is a rare find - a charming property within walking distance of shops and restaurants in picturesque Cetona.

CV clients have already fallen in love with the classic rural beauty of the landscape in southern Tuscany and the picturesque hill town of Cetona in particular. We are very happy that the owner of our well-established favourite La Torre have now offered us La Torretta.

Furnished with a stylish, fresh touch by its decorator owner, at ground floor level there is a study/dining room, a sitting room, small kitchen and a shower room with a double bedroom on the first floor. The kitchen opens to to a vegetable garden which guests can enjoy. The sitting room opens to an independent garden with a shaded dining area for eating and an Ottoman style pergola to rest, read or listen to music (as the pergola is provided with electricity).

Nearby, there is a newly restored fontanile, a traditional Tuscan fountain with hydromassage for two people together, while enjoing a wonderful view of olive trees, woods, and, in the far distance, the outline of the medieval jewel Città della Pieve.

Only a few minutes from the bustling piazza, shops and restaurants in enchanting Cetona this is an ideal retreat for a couple or a very comfortable guest annexe if rented with La Torre.

Destination introduction

It is to the panoramic open agricultural landscapes of the 'senese', the area of Tuscany south of Siena where many return. Delight in sampling the local wines in 'enoteche' of the wine centres of Montalcino and Montepulciano, enjoy the classic vistas from Pope Pius II's Renaissance jewel, Pienza or bathe in the thermal springs at Bagno Vignoni with its view over abandoned hill top fortifications. All these places are easily accessible from one of our villas in the ever changing landscape of the Val d'Orcia, and located not far from our villas at Cetona, an atmospheric and undiscovered jewel of a hill town, the retreat of the literary and artistic.

Dramatically placed on a hillside overlooking the valley of Valdichiana, with views of Lake Trasimeno and Monte Amiata, is the Tuscan hill town of Cortona. Whether it's a wander through the cobbled streets, a visit to the antiques market or a delicious al fresco meal in one of the trattorie, a visit to Cortona should not be missed as part of a Tuscan holiday.
