Tugliano Alto

Sleeps up to: 6

Tugliano Alto benefits from a wonderfully secluded position with spectacular panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside. It is the ideal choice for those who are looking for total privacy and relaxation in serious style.

Set high on its own hillside above the Tuscan town of Ambra, this delightful stone house is the perfect bolt hole from city life. The owner has successfully mixed the old and the new, keeping the original features such as stone fireplaces, open beams and wooden floors whilst providing a very high level of comfort.

On the lower floor in addition to a modern open plan kitchen/dining room there are two separate sitting rooms, a small cosy snug room ideal for wintry months as well as a formal summer sitting room which opens out onto a small terrace. An attractive wrought iron spiral staircase connects the entrance hallway up to four bedrooms and an additional sitting room.

The covered outdoor eating area is a very short distance to the main house.

Paths from both levels of the house lead to the spectacular infinity-edged pool area with its decking surround and covered shaded area from which one cannot escape the fabulous countryside views. For lovers of shopping and culture alike Siena, Florence and Arezzo are within easy driving distance.

Destination introduction

Chianti is perhaps the best known of all Tuscany's varied panoramas. Located between Siena and Florence and known above all for its good wine, Chianti is dotted with pretty hill top towns and villages, green hills, undulating rows of vines, olive groves and swathes of pine and ancient oak. A perfect base for sightseeing, countryside pursuits and shopping trips.

Siena is high on the list of day trips for CV Travellers in Tuscany as it is brimming with beauty, culture, Renaissance art and architecture.  Highly recommended is a visit to the central piazza or 'Campo', the location of the famous Palio horse race, it's colourful cathedral, pretty shops and excellent restaurants.
