If space, vast airy bedrooms, sensational views and privacy are essential holiday ingredients, then Sant’ Antonio is the answer. This glorious former farmhouse is equidistant between Siena and the beaches and azure water of Monte Argentario.

When the owner decided to renovate and decorate one of the long abandoned farmhouses on the family's huge estate, she cleverly incorporated a stylish mixture of understated Italian combined with quintessential English elegance – maintaining its essential Tuscan heritage, whilst creating a uniquely comfortable home.

Guests arriving at Sant’Antonio through classic Tuscan countryside, and then following the long private road, past the imposing Castello. From here there are panoramic views of rolling Tuscan countryside, as far as the eye can see, with distant Monte Amiata romantically silhouetted on the horizon.

Once inside, there is an exceptional feeling of space and coolness: a hall with terracotta tiled floor, and magazines on a table, leading to a vast sitting room combined with the dining room that runs the whole length of the house. Four elegant French windows let light stream in, each providing a view within a frame, all leading to a long terrace and then to the garden. Comfortable sofas and armchairs surround a large working fireplace, and overhead there are vaulted ceilings, with their intricate brickwork. A well equipped kitchen, provides a haven for aspiring chefs.

Upstairs, bedrooms are large and peaceful, many with original wooden beams and a second sitting room provides private peace.

Outside, an area of well tended garden surrounds the stunning pool area, well fenced for children, with a panoramic all round view.

South West of Siena, within an easy drive of the Tuscan coast, we have no hesitation recommending Sant’ Antonio for those who want to explore Tuscany’s Maremma and its Etruscan heritage.

Private Pool

14m x 6m, 1.2m - 2.2m deep with built-in steps. The pool is open from mid May until mid September. Outside these dates, the pool can be opened on request for an extra charge.

Welcome Provisions Included

A welcome gesture to offer you a drink after your journey; tea or coffee and biscuits, wine or juice and a snack. They are not sufficient for an entire meal. Owners will also generally leave a few other items such as some salt, sugar, oil, bin bags and toilet paper.

Food Hamper

Can be arranged for an additional cost and service charge payable locally. For guests who are arriving late or who recognize they may be delayed and arrive with no time to do shopping. Shops are shut on Sundays, so the aim of the Food Hampers is to provide two light meals and two breakfasts, to allow guests to go out for one meal, then do more shopping on Monday. We can adapt these hampers to take into account allergies, dislikes and dietary requirements, or according to whether there are children in the party.
