Casa Simona

Casa Simona is a beautifully restored collection of three adjacent 16th century farm buildings, providing a haven for a larger group who want to retain some sense of independence.

The property retains many fascinating features and beautiful original architectural features but has been sensitively provided with all modern conveniences to contribute towards your dream holiday in the gently rolling hills and valleys of the area around Valdarno, the Valdichiana and the Valambra.

The living and dining accommodation is divided between the three buildings, Fienile, Colonica and Granaio. Each has its own character but the houses are located conveniently close to each other, enabling larger groups to get together in any one of several entertaining areas to eat, drink and perhaps enjoy a leisurely game of billiards in comfort.

The kitchens are modern with all equipment provided should there be a keen cook in your group. Two of the three buildings have large kitchens and dining rooms for over 12 people, and in front one of the buildings there is a large open-air dining area with barbecue.

The bedrooms are furnished to a high standard throughout, with some rooms benefiting from breathtaking en-suite spa bathroom facilities.

Explore the 60 hectares of land, including wizened olive and walnut groves, a well wisteria bower and vineyards all within the grounds of the villa, or simply relax in the magnificent pool.

Alternatively the local area has a host of tempting restaurants to lure you away. Casa Simona offers flexible and well-equipped accommodation.

Room Description

Colonica

Ground Floor: Spacious kitchen with dishwasher and oven • Dining area with fireplace and dining table for 12 to 14 people • Spacious living room with mahogany billiard table and sofas.

Granaio

Ground Floor: Sitting room with satellite TV • Kitchen with dishwasher, oven and dining area • Cloakroom.

First Floor: Double bedroom with shower room en suite • Twin bedroom (can be made up as double) with shower room en suite.

Fienile

Ground Floor: Large open plan room with sofas and satellite TV, and professional kitchen with dishwasher, American-style fridge with ice-maker, range with 5 hobs, oven and circular dining table 12- 14 • Shower room.

First Floor: Double bed on a mezzanine level overlooking the open plan room below.

Facilities

Washing Machine, Dishwasher, TV, DVD Player, ADSL Internet Access, Air Conditioning (bedrooms only, payable locally), Underfloor heating (payable locally), Brick Barbeque, 2 cots are available on request.

Private Pool

8m x 16m, 1.4m - 2.4m deep with built-in steps. The pool is open from mid May until mid September. Outside these dates, the pool can be opened on request for an extra charge.

Welcome Provisions

A welcome gesture to offer you a drink after your journey; tea or coffee and biscuits, wine or juice and a snack. They are not sufficient for an entire meal. Owners will also generally leave a few other items to get you going such as some salt, sugar, oil, bin bags and toilet paper.

Food Hamper

Can be arranged for an additional cost and 35 Euros service charge payable locally. For guests who are arriving late or who recognize they may be delayed and arrive with no time to do shopping. Shops are shut on Sundays, so the aim of the Food Hampers is to provide two light meals and two breakfasts, to allow guests to go out for one meal, then do more shopping on Monday. We can adapt these hampers to take into account allergies, dislikes and dietary requirements, or according to whether there are children in the party.

Cook Service

Availability on request, costs payable locally (booking fee applicable). Euro 20 per hour plus the cost of the food, available for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

Linen and Towels

Provided once per week on Saturday. Extra changes are available on request for an additional charge of 20 Euros per change.

Maid service

2 hours 5 days per week, extra maid service 20 Euros per hour.

Tenancy Times

Tenancies commence at 16:00 hours on the day of arrival and villas are to be located by 10:00 hours on the day of departure.
