Pelagia House

Sleeps up to 6

If you sense the pressures of everyday life dropping away soon after you arrive at the Villas Pelagia, then that is as it should be, for these two beautiful villas were designed according to the principles of Feng Shui. A sense of mellow serenity pervades the spacious interiors where unobtrusive elegance and the use of natural materials have earned the property a place in a number of distinguished design and travel magazines. The two villas occupy a superb setting on the edge of a low headland overlooking the Gulf of Messinia, a short walk from the sandy beaches of Stoupa and Kalogria, with rock bathing below the villas. The unsophisticated holiday atmosphere of Stoupa village is only minutes’ away.

Ideal for a group of friends or a family seeking comfort and style, the larger of the two villas lies in a beautiful setting on the threshold of ‘unspoilt Greece’. This two-storey villa rises out of a natural garden where a rock-framed terrace shelters an inviting hot tub. Large patio windows open on to several terraces from which the views are sublime, and the proximity of the sea, splashing on to the rocks below, makes a wonderful background to those leisurely outdoor meals that make  holidays in Greece so memorable.

Stoupa Introduction

Stoupa was once just a small fishing harbour, but its fine beaches, the best in the region, have made it a popular small holiday resort since the nineteen-eighties. Well-supplied with accommodation, shops, tavernas, bars and other useful facilities, it appeals very much to families, with its not unduly sophisticated and pleasantly informal atmosphere. A family holiday here need never become boring, with all the attractions of the superb beaches including water sports, and an excellent horse-riding centre nearby.

But Stoupa is not only about family holidays – it is the gateway to some wonderful opportunities for exploration of the magnificent scenery, on foot, by bike or car, and the ancient sites of Olympia, Sparta and Mistra are easily reached from here. The Mani is unique in the splendour of its scenery and in its architecture – fortified towers and Byzantine churches and chapels, some no bigger than a large beehive – and Stoupa is the ideal centre for the discovery of the area.
