Vassiliki occupies a favoured position at the head of a sweeping bay in the south of Lefkada. Backed by towering mountains whose tree-clad slopes drop gradually down to waters of iridescent blue and turquoise, the village has become a popular holiday resort in recent years. It has always been a fishing port, since ancient times, and its long and very attractive waterfront is crammed with tavernas and restaurants where fish is still the dish of choice. Bars and boutiques rub shoulders with quaint old buildings and Vassiliki’s fame as a superb windsurfing centre, thanks to the perfect wind conditions that exist almost every afternoon, is evident in the number of stores selling the relevant gear and offering tuition. A great Watersports Festival takes place every June and July, with lots of action on and off the beaches.
There is always an intriguing mix of boat traffic in Vassiliki, both in the harbour itself and in the new marina. Boats can be hired for trips along the coast to some of the wild and gorgeous beaches and coves that stud the shoreline. The village is flanked by a magnificent beach of sand and pebble, justifiably popular, but quieter beaches can easily be reached.
The following trips are available from Vassiliki:

Boat trips to the nearby Agiofylli Beach which is only accessable by boat
