St Nicolas Bay Hotel

Resort & Spa

The St Nicolas Bay Resort Hotel has been welcoming CV clients for several years, and with its high standards of service and the warm hospitality that epitomises Crete, will continue to do so for many years to come.

This very unusual, very luxurious hotel owes its imaginative and individual design to the vision of its architect owner. Each unit of accommodation – room, suite, studio or apartment – is entirely different from any other, with its own unique décor and furnishing. The hotel is situated on a peninsula facing the spectacular Gulf of Mirabello, just to the north of the busy little town of Agios Nicolaos, a short walk away. There are magnificent views across the bay to the dramatic mountains and perfectly shaped islets that seem to float on the surface of the ink-blue sea. Within the sanctuary of its own private beachfront setting, the hotel sits amidst lush, flower-filled gardens, and pathways meander towards the two outdoor seawater pools, the seafront restaurants and the hotel’s own beach, that has been awarded an EU Blue Flag. There is a supervised water sports and scuba diving centre at the beach, run by very competent Greek staff. Loungers, towels and shades are all provided. The hotel is perfect for holidays of all kinds – whether a family holiday, a relaxing hideaway for couples, or for a special occasion. Various types of accommodation are available – of which the newer seafront suites with their own private pool and spacious terrace must be the ultimate luxury retreat. We also have family suites with one bedroom, seperate salon with two child beds and garden view terrace. The hotel has its own Poseidon Health Club and Spa facilities offering new Wellness and Beauty treatments by qualified and experienced personnel. When it comes to food, guests are spoiled for choice, with no less than five different restaurants serving Cretan specialities and international dishes, with fish playing a large part in the menu. There is even a ‘traditional’ Cretan Kafeneion with a small church nearby, and an Art Gallery displaying Modern Greek and Cretan work. A fully-rounded experience, not just a hotel!

Destination introduction

A long promenade, cooled by salt sea breezes, leads you out along the Gulf of Mirabello and the busy town of Aghios Nikolaos. A natural harbour at the hub of the town is surrounded by a colourful quayside of shops and restaurants and the town's rocky shoreline gives way to coves of sand and shingle.

The atmosphere is an intriguing blend of a busy tourist resort and simple island town. Several herb-scented hillside walks or a drive may tempt you out of the blue mountains bringing you to blisful bays. Small wonder that Aghious Nikolaos tempts travellers time after time.
