Kokkini

Sleeps up to 4

Kokkini is one of several small hamlets dotted across the hillsides above St Stephano, where time seems to have slowed down, without actually halting completely. Anyone with a sense of romance will love this cottage with its sunny private pool and its incredible views of the Kassiopi-St Stephano coastline. Kokkini is the kind of house conversion that English people dream of doing and write bestsellers about! In this case, however, it is the achievement of its young Greek owners, who also own Villa Strongilo, another popular CV villa. Surrounded by its own vineyards, the cottage is completely secluded and still retains much of its old character, subtly enhanced by some modern facilities, including the addition of air conditioning in the bedrooms. The lovely stone terrace, shaded by a healthy vine, overlooks the very pretty swimming pool, and beyond this, a fantastic vista of the sea and the mainland opposite. These hillsides are tempting territory for walkers; threaded with footpaths and winding tracks leading to abandoned villages and breathtaking viewpoints. This is another world, so different from the coast, yet only a few minutes drive from St Stephano and Kassiopi.

Boat Hire: There is no better way to explore the coastline and discover  deserted bays and coves with their translucent water to add to the overall  enjoyment of your holiday. Guest Book

Clients from Hampshire wrote... 'We returned from holiday a couple of weeks ago and we still can't stop telling everyone what a wonderful time we had.  The villa you suggested to us had all things on our wish list; fab views, infinity pool and secluded. On top of a great villa you gave me enormous help in planning several surprises to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.  The horse ride, champagne picnic, helium balloons and the 'best restaurant in Corfu'  were all fabulous events in themselves. You exceeded my expectation of great service from CV Travel. I'm sure you would be the first to say it was a team effort, so please please pass on my thanks to the local office who also took great care of us whilst we were there and ensured that our plans were successful.'

Mr Hill wrote..'Historically, as a family, we do not return to the same destination or accommodation, but we would definitely return to villa kokkini in the future, as it is without a doubt a perfect villa in a spectacular location with one of the best views in the Mediterranean!'

Kokkokilas & Porta Introduction

Kokkokilas is one of the ancient stone hamlets built high on the slopes of Mt Pantocrator, overlooking superb views of the sea and Albania. With long hours of sun, this is a landscape where olive groves give way to almond trees and occasional vineyards, scattered with the beehives from which the wonderful local honey is produced. This is real 'get-away-from-it-all' country, perfect for walking, but not by any means cut off - the amenities of St Stephano and Kassiopi are only a few minutes drive away. Couples and families alike will love the seclusion and space of this highland area, with its abundant wildlife.

Porta is a small mountain village where life remains largely unchanged. High on the uplands overlooking the northeast coast of Corfu, it is easily accessible by car but forms the starting point for some wonderful walks, some of them quite demanding and a test for serious ramblers. From here tracks radiate to connect the village with Rou, Nissaki and Kassiopi, leading to abandoned villages and quarries and revealing a Corfu that is still firmly entrenched in the past.
