Aktea

Sleeps up to 8

Just about as close to the sea as it is possible to get, with vast amounts of space and a view that spans two countries, Villa Aktea has enormous appeal for families. Aktea is situated on the headland that is crowned by the ruins of the once-great Roman fortress of Kassiopi. The amenities and entertainment of Kassiopi’s lively and attractive harbour area are only a short walk from the villa – but cannot be seen or heard from here making it absolutely ideal for families with teenagers who will be able to walk home safely along the fairly quiet road. Villa Aktea has a superb swimming pool and terrace, stunningly sited above the rocks and the sea. A private, gated area gives access to the rock swimming and the amazing beaches of Bataria and Kanoni are only five minutes’ walk away. Children are well served by this villa; there is a separate swimming pool for young children, and the possibility to do some fishing.

Kassiopi Introduction

Once an isolated fishing village, Kassiopi is now a very attractive, busy little harbour town; a good centre for shopping, entertainment and excursions, where tradition and tourism meet with happy results. Internet cafes exist side-by-side with shops selling exquisite locally-made lace and embroidery, bread 'boutiques' and 'designer' coffee bars vie for your attention with excellent clothes and accessories shops. Kassiopi’s headland fortress is one of Corfu’s most ancient dating back to Roman and Byzantine times, and has recently been partly restored and benefits from wonderful illumination. The village church, too, is an archaeological treasure dating from the 16th century but built on the ruins of an ancient Greek temple. With good beaches, water sports and an excellent selection of restaurants and bars, there is something for all tastes. Teenagers love Kassiopi for its lively nightlife and trendy shopping; parents love it because it keeps the children happy.

The last shepherds left the hard life of tending their goats and sheep on the rocky hillsides above Kassiopi many years ago now, but the tranquillity remains largely undisturbed, and forms the setting for some beautiful villas. The views from here are sublime and penetrate deep into the heart of southern Albania.

Kassiopi Amenities

Several supermarkets, including two at the turn-off for Coyevinas and Avlaki, Many restaurants and bars including 2 at Avlaki, Night-life, telephone, fax, internet, water sports in Kassiopi, Windsurfing, dinghy sailing and tuition at Avlaki, Golf at Ropa Valley, Horse riding at Avlaki, and also at Kato Korakiana, Tennis Kassiopi and Acharavi.
