Bella Mare Hotel

The Bella Mare could be described as one of Corfu’s best-kept secrets. Tucked away in a corner of the beautiful and surprisingly peaceful Avlaki Bay, its low-rise buildings are set amidst green, well-kept gardens, with direct access to the sea.

The accommodation consists of spacious, air-conditioned apartments and studios, each with its own small kitchen and balcony/verandah overlooking the gardens and sea. Bathrooms are equipped with full-size baths and showers. The guest rooms are distributed over the three main buildings to give a very satisfactory level of privacy. Breakfast can be taken in the buffet-lounge if wished or, of course, in the privacy of the apartment. There is a very pleasant pool bar where snack lunches are served, and when it comes to evening meals, the guest has the choice between two excellent and traditionally Greek tavernas at Avlaki itself, just a few metres away or the restaurants and tavernas of nearby Kassiopi and St Stephano.

One of the two headlands that shelters Avlaki Bay is environmentally-protected, and offers opportunities for wonderful walking and horse-trekking, while the beach is home to a very good, English-run sailing and windsurfing centre. The Bella Mare is an excellent choice for a quiet and peaceful holiday with just the right amount of healthy activity, pool or sea bathing, as a family or with friends, or as a couple. On the other hand, doing nothing much at all is no hardship in such pleasant, friendly and beautiful surroundings.

Room Description

Studios are comfortably furnished, open plan, double bedrooms with a small kitchenette, and with a balcony overlooking the gardens. The studios are able to take one extra bed.

Apartments are more spacious and have a bedroom with separate living room and kitchenette. Bathrooms have a bath and shower, and guests enjoy views of the garden from the balconies.

Your Location

The hotel is jut a short walk from the beach and a couple of tavernas at Avlaki, and less than 2 miles from Kassiopi and a larger selection of shops and restaurants. A hire car is recommended.

Windsurfing and dinghy hire are available on Avlaki beach next to the hotel.
