Destination introduction
Kent is often referred to as 'The Garden of England' and is justifiably one of the prettiest of the home counties around London, in the South East corner of England.
The interior of the county boasts The Kentish Downs, a range of wooded chalkland hills ideal for walking or horse riding. Kent is famous for its hop farming, and the distinctive hop farm towers can still be seen dotted around the countryside. The ancient Cathedral City of Canterbury, as featured in Chaucer's 'The Canterbury Tales' - is well worth a visit.
Kent's long and varied coastline provides a wealth of beaches, from secluded shingle bays to large expanses of golden sands, including the iconic White Cliffs of Dover.
