Moulin Aux Olives

Sleeps up to: 10

Moulin Aux Olives is a wonderful 16th century converted olive watermill sitting in 3 acres of private garden. A pleasant 10 minute walk from the village of Callas and within easy driving distance of the bustling coastal towns of Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Tropez, it offers every opportunity to enjoy both quiet relaxation and the high life of the Côte d'Azur.

Inside, many of the original features of the building have been retained; including the waterwheel, millstone, terracotta tiled floors and exposed ceiling beams. The property has undergone extensions and renovations and while most of the property is on one level, it has a few stairs connecting rooms. It is furnished with a clever mixture of contemporary and antique styles, beautiful textiles, textured rich coloured rugs and fabrics reveal the owners’ passion for travel. The central large living room has two comfortable, inviting sofas and armchairs, a DVD player and an enormous collection of DVD’s, which have been provided for guests' entertainment. Guests taking laptops also benefit from high-speed wireless Internet access in the house and poolside. Outside, the grounds are perfect for lazy summer days. Destination introduction

The fine vista of 'Belle Epoque' houses along the sea front, the wonderful 'buzzing' atmosphere of the one time small fishing village of Saint-Tropez, provide a number of reasons why the rich and famous continue to flock to this fabulous area. Set on the lovely blue water of the Bay of Saint-Tropez, this modern version of a medieval town is most popular for the line of yachts along the quai, and the facing line of terrace cafés. Saint-Tropez became "St-Trop" when the show business people, artists and writers all fell under the spell of this charming little port in the 1950's. Since then it has become the 'in' vacation spot for chic Parisians and 'La Jet Set'.

There is however another side to Saint-Tropez. Early in the morning at the Place aux Herbes one can find fruit vegetables and flowers and watch the local fishermen selling their new catch. The beaches too are wonderful, and there are at least forty on the peninsula. Whilst the verdant hills cocooning it provide a wonderful contrast with the villages within them prefect hideaways, yet still close to the action of the coast.
