Jardin de Grimaud

Sleeps up to:12

In a quiet location where the sound of birdsong prevails, Jardin de Grimaud is, as its name implies, surrounded by lovely gardens, vineyards and is enclosed by woodland.

This spacious and comfortable restored farmhouse, decorated in a classical style, only becomes visible on arrival by climbing a few steps.  There is a large sitting room with an open fireplace and a dining room with Provencal tiled floors and old beams, both enjoying French windows which open on to the shady terrace with lovely views over the valley, and the property’s own vineyard.  Outside, there is a large swimming pool, a barbecue and an outdoor kitchen and a spectacular tennis court surrounded by trees.  Nestling in a hillside alongside a tributary of the River Giscle, Jardin de Grimaud is close to the medieval town of Grimaud, to a number of golf courses and is only 12km to the coast at St Tropez.  The villa is a wonderfully relaxing holiday home, ideal for families to enjoy its facilities and the range of amenities nearby.

Destination introduction

The fine vista of 'Belle Epoque' houses along the sea front, the wonderful 'buzzing' atmosphere of the one time small fishing village of Saint-Tropez, provide a number of reasons why the rich and famous continue to flock to this fabulous area. Set on the lovely blue water of the Bay of Saint-Tropez, this modern version of a medieval town is most popular for the line of yachts along the quai, and the facing line of terrace cafés. Saint-Tropez became "St-Trop" when the show business people, artists and writers all fell under the spell of this charming little port in the 1950's. Since then it has become the 'in' vacation spot for chic Parisians and 'La Jet Set'.

There is however another side to Saint-Tropez. Early in the morning at the Place aux Herbes one can find fruit vegetables and flowers and watch the local fishermen selling their new catch. The beaches too are wonderful, and there are at least forty on the peninsula. Whilst the verdant hills cocooning it provide a wonderful contrast with the villages within them prefect hideaways, yet still close to the action of the coast.
