Mas du Puverel

Sleeps up to: 12

In a quiet location and conveniently close to beaches, Mougins and Cannes, this delightful family house has everything to make it a favourite holiday home.

Within the gates of the Mas du Puverel lies a house that seems to sum up the true spirit of what it means to be in the South of France. Built in 1813, it still obtains all the grace of the period, subtly enhanced by its interior designer owner, with a very comprehensive range of contemporary facilities taking their place beside the traditional architectural details of the house. The charming rooms are decorated with elegance and flair and subtle use of colour plays an important part in the pleasing effect. There is an outdoor summer seating area with a distinctly Moroccan feel about it as well as a formal winter drawing room; in contrast, there is also a gym room equipped with weights. Attractive bedrooms are individually decorated and have great character – first floor bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, and the Master suite has its own satellite TV and music system. The beds are big and the bathrooms are very stylish.

A big kitchen is designed for family socialising, with modern appliances to make cooking fun rather than a necessary chore. The provision of a fax machine and wireless Internet access make it possible to stay in touch with the world beyond the Mas if necessary, although the calm beauty of this lovely property makes it quite possible to turn your back on real life for a while.

Outside, the pretty pink-and-white façade with its blue shutters overlooks a shady courtyard, and a large gated swimming pool nestles amidst the beautiful gardens that are scattered with winding paths and steps. For convenient local shopping and restaurants, the village of Pegomas is 3 kilometres away, as is Mougins, with its fabulous views and medieval atmosphere.

"just wanted to say how grateful we are to everyone at CV Travel for sorting out our very last-minute holiday...It was a fabulous place, everything there exceeded our expectations and it gave us the perfect family holiday. We’ve never used your company before, but we will definitely be using you for our summer holiday next year, on which note, if someone could post us the 2012 brochures for France and Italy when they become available.........." Destination introduction

Ever since the Romans colonised the South of France and spent days lounging around their pools, the province has conjured up an image of glamour and elegance. It is a paradise that has a very individual appeal. Fine wines, fragrant olive oils, stunning Riviera towns - the list is endless and the variety unmatched.

Some of our finest villas in France can be found along the Cote D'Azur. The rich unspoilt coastline around Saint-Raphaël and Fréjus with its dramatic cliffs and stunning coves. 150 years ago Cannes was nothing more than a fishing village. Since then it has become an elegant city and attracts an international clientele. Cannes is simply wonderful, with many facets and much variety. The Haute Ville offers a breathtaking view of the whole city surrounded by the blue sea and the Lérins Islands. Whilst below in the Vieux Port along the Quai Saint-Pierre, fishing boats and pleasure boats sit side by side, and Cannes would not be complete without a walk along 'La Croisette', one of the most famous promenades in the world.

Antibes Juan-les-Pins is one of the best-known resorts on the Côte d'Azur, located between Nice (20km) and Cannes (12km). The town of Antibes is chic and laid back with a variety of restaurants, cafés, theatres and chic hotels, whilst Juan-les-Pins is for night owls with fashionable night clubs, a casino and even night shopping. For a long time Antibes was the only large town between Marseille and Italy and has managed to conserve historic monuments from each period in its heritage.

Only 15 minutes from Cannes, the superb medieval village of Mougins is set amongst pine, olive and cyprus trees. Surrounded by forests (the Valmasque forest covers 427 hectares) Mougins has maintained its beauty, and offers visitors a panoramic view of the Baie de Cannes, the Lérins Islands, Grasse and the “Préalpes”. On the village outskirts, some of our most luxurious villas in France are hidden behind magnificent Mediterranean parks and gardens.
