Tamarind House

Sleeps up to: 6

Spacious and utterly private, this substantial staffed villa and cottage has glorious views of the Pitons and a dramatic private pool and tennis court.

Tamarind House is named after the vast, shady tree that grows out of the tiles and dominates this villa’s fabulous main terrace. This exceptionally large house is constructed of local stone with high greenheart ceilings and beautiful antique West Indian furniture. There is quality everywhere you look from Italian tiled marble bathrooms, 100% Egyptian cotton sheets, French linen bed covers and long white curtains that gently billow in the breeze. This villa really does have it all for a memorable Caribbean holiday, a spectacular tennis court and swimming pool, a friendly and efficient staff and world class snorkelling and scuba diving at Anse Chastanet beach, just a walk down the hill or a short drive.

Destination introduction

The south of St Lucia is where the attractions are more natural, and nowhere more so than the dramatic twin peaks of The Pitons that dominate the skyline in the south west. There is also a spectacular rainforest with its diverse flora and fauna, and even a drive-in volcano, which are both very popular. Here the pace of life is unhurried and this is what some would say is the real St Lucia that is still virtually untouched by commercialism. This can mean that local restaurants and shops are not as sophisticated in the north but does mean that you will get a real flavour of Island life. The best beaches are at Anse Cochon, Anse Chastanet and Jalousie Bay – directly between the Pitons.
