Lying close to the Petit Piton, this former 27 acre cocoa plantation has been transformed into an unusual country retreat of 19 individually distinctive villas and cottages. Perfect for couples, families or groups of friends looking for independent tropical living.

The 19 villas range in size from one to three bedrooms and have been built in a traditional Caribbean style, with gingerbread trim and an extensive use of natural wood and stone in their construction. Each has its own distinctive character and has been set within the estate to capture the spectacular views of the Pitons and the sea. Each villa has a balcony, hammock and planters’ chairs from which to admire the views. The majority have four-poster beds and most of the furniture is built from local mahogany. A number of the villas have private pools and there is also a large central pool, next to which is the Mango Tree Restaurant, if you should tire of self catering.

Destination introduction

The south of St Lucia is where the attractions are more natural, and nowhere more so than the dramatic twin peaks of The Pitons that dominate the skyline in the south west. There is also a spectacular rainforest with its diverse flora and fauna, and even a drive-in volcano, which are both very popular. Here the pace of life is unhurried and this is what some would say is the real St Lucia that is still virtually untouched by commercialism. This can mean that local restaurants and shops are not as sophisticated in the north but does mean that you will get a real flavour of Island life. The best beaches are at Anse Cochon, Anse Chastanet and Jalousie Bay – directly between the Pitons.
