Caille Blanc

Sleeps 4-14

It is impossible to visit Caille Blanc and not be mesmerized by the sublime view, of the Pitons rising out of a sea so blue it must have been flooded with indigo, reflected in the still water of the beautiful infinity swimming pool.

Built in the style of an Asian compound, tucked into the cliff edge not far from pristine Anse Chastanet Beach, Caille Blanc Villa is the creation of its New York designer owner. With infinite skill and taste he has plucked exquisite furnishings, materials, antiques and artifacts from the more unusual parts of the world, with St Lucian wood and stone providing the basic building materials. This exotic fusion has resulted in a grouping of pavilions, where guests have the advantage of being able to retire gracefully to their own suite for privacy if they wish, or meeting up at the beautiful indoor and outdoor living areas. When it comes to staff, few can compare with the charming cook/housekeeper Marilyn, whose kindness has already become an established part of the whole Caille Blanc experience.

Destination introduction

The south of St Lucia is where the attractions are more natural, and nowhere more so than the dramatic twin peaks of The Pitons that dominate the skyline in the south west. There is also a spectacular rainforest with its diverse flora and fauna, and even a drive-in volcano, which are both very popular. Here the pace of life is unhurried and this is what some would say is the real St Lucia that is still virtually untouched by commercialism. This can mean that local restaurants and shops are not as sophisticated in the north but does mean that you will get a real flavour of Island life. The best beaches are at Anse Cochon, Anse Chastanet and Jalousie Bay – directly between the Pitons.
