D'Arcy

Sleeps up to 4

This small but perfectly formed, characterful cottage, made with exposed rock walls and Guyanan hardwood, will greatly appeal to those wishing to find a romantic, island retreat, with easy access to both Caribbean and Atlantic beaches.

You enter this recently refurbished house through a walkway, surrounded by bamboo and coconut palm trees, that leads you into an L shaped, spacious living, benefiting from cooling fans and comfy chairs. There are large louver doors running the entire length of one wall in the living room and these open out onto a high level patio overlooking the golf course and the Caribbean Sea. Here guests can relax in a Planter’s chairs to enjoy the sunset or experience Marietta the housekeeper’s wonderful cooking, make sure to try her ‘Baked Christophine’. The excellently equipped kitchen has beautiful granite work surfaces and opens onto a breakfast bar. Downstairs there are two air onditioned double bedrooms that both open through glass sliding doors onto a small private terrace and from here to the swimming pool and sun deck. The garden has been recently landscaped and is fully planted with tropical flowers and fruit trees.

Destination introduction

The north of St Lucia is more cosmopolitan and lively than the south. The beaches tend to be golden interspersed with dark, volcanic coves, and you will find most of the villas that we feature in the very north on the Cap Estate, near the golf course. From the Cap Estate there are wonderful views to be had of Pigeon Point Island (joined by a causeway) and many great beaches, the largest being Reduit Beach. The capital, Castries, is also in the north, famous for its market and historical sites, and Rodney Bay offers marinas, a variety of watersports and an extensive range of restaurants, bars and a diversity of nightlife.
