Destination introduction
Only seven miles long by five miles wide, Nevis is where the original Caribbean lifestyle is perpetuated by the welcoming people, the unspoilt scenery and the elegant atmosphere of imposing old sugar mills and gracious plantation houses. The island is a paradise for artists, writers, historians and nature lovers, a verdant island dominated by the majestic Nevis Peak at its centre.
The island also has strong ties with Caribbean history: first there was Columbus and later Nelson was stationed there (he even got married there!) and the charm of the past lingers on. But a holiday in Nevis is more than history and old houses.
The island offers all the ingredients for a memorable holiday - white sand beaches and swaying palms fronting crystal blue waters and a lovely relaxed lifestyle, plus some excellent villas and charming plantation house hotels, which are just the place to escape the stresses of modern day life.
