Set in 500 acres of rolling countryside on the ridge overlooking the West Coast, Royal Westmoreland prefers not to be known purely as a golf resort, but more as a private and exclusive community. Of 125 or so villas, just 30 are available for rental. Each has been designed in a contemporary local style using coral stone and pickled pine complemented by tasteful furnishings and attractive fabrics. They range in size from three to eight bedrooms, all of which are airconditioned and have en suite bathrooms. Guests receive concessional green fees, free use of the putting green, driving range, Club House facilities and the Sanctuary complex with swimming pool and sundeck.

With an almost uninterrupted, six mile stretch of white sand beach, St James truly is Barbados’s ‘Platinum Coast’. Famous for its beachfront mansions, pristine beaches and luxury hotels, St James incorporates the majority of the island’s west coast and is home to three of Barbados’s world famous private estates – Sandy Lane, Royal Westmoreland and Sugar Hill – with their championship golf courses and facilities.
