A favourite with families, Royal Blue is situated in the exclusive Royal Westmoreland estate, about 10 minutes walk from the central facilities such as the Club house and Sanctuary Spa. It is a very spacious semi-detached house of 2,500 square feet with its own private terrace, pool and affords a view of the Caribbean Sea. The house forms part of a spacious ‘horseshoe' of ten Royal Villa properties with a large 30 metre ‘infinity' swimming pool for common use surrounded by luxurious vegetation. The area is usually very quiet and most times you will be the only ones enjoying the sun. The living areas are on the upper level of the villa and open onto a wide, covered terrace with relaxed seating and an al fresco dining area where you can enjoy the views of the ocean, the estate, tropical gardens and the pool areas. To get around the Royal Westmoreland development you can walk as distances are short (alternatively rent a buggy or use your hire car).

A word from the owner of Royal Blue: "We had been to Barbados several times on holiday and loved the island because of its climate, happy people, and the quality of its restaurants. The island also has a reputation as a safe and welcoming place. Royal Westmoreland appealed because of its world class golf course and the family oriented facilities such as gym, tennis, kid's club and the wonderful beach facility. The staff are all very welcoming. The lushness of this tropical island is marvellous with hummingbirds, green monkeys, fireflies, palm trees making a great contrast with home in the UK.

We live in Surrey and have grown up twin daughters who enjoy joining us at Royal Westmoreland. We usually spend around 10 weeks a year in Barbados. I'm lucky to work part-time with a couple of directorships which allows me if necessary to work from our Bajan home using the computer and broadband connection. We are starting to make some good friends there and really enjoy the facilities, especially the golf course, clubhouse and beach facility. We are building up a library of books and DVDs which we are very happy to share with our guests. To celebrate special occasions we love dining out at one of the wonderful local restaurants. Whilst dining out at Zacchio's in August we were fortunate to witness a turtle coming up the beach to lay its eggs! Barbados is full of pleasant surprises!

At the rental price level of our villa on Royal Westmoreland we are one of the only ones with its own private pool. Being recently built the interior and furnishings are fresh and luxurious, the interior having been designed by interior designers, Archer's, in Speightstown."

With an almost uninterrupted, six mile stretch of white sand beach, St James truly is Barbados’s ‘Platinum Coast’. Famous for its beachfront mansions, pristine beaches and luxury hotels, St James incorporates the majority of the island’s west coast and is home to three of Barbados’s world famous private estates – Sandy Lane, Royal Westmoreland and Sugar Hill – with their championship golf courses and facilities. The area’s commercial centre is Holetown, a charming area with fine restaurants and shopping. Directly to the south of Holetown are Sandy Lane Beach and the Paynes Bay area extending down to Fitts Village, Derricks and Prospect. ‘The Garden’ is an exclusive enclave to the north of Holetown, by Lower Carlton and Weston.
