Elsewhere

Sleeps up to: 16

In Barbados you do not rent just a villa, but an entire lifestyle and nowhere is this epitomised more than at Elsewhere: pristine, designer interiors; sprawling botanical gardens and a world class chef make this the perfect villa for reunions and special occasions.

Elsewhere is an exceptionally beautiful Mediterranean style villa with stucco walls and a terracotta tiled roof that encompasses terraces, balconies and courtyards. The villa extends over three wings affording plenty of privacy to all guests. The terraces of the main house are the focal point of the loose limbed villa and families and friends gather here to enjoy the ocean views, to party and to dine at the long table. The kitchen adjoins these areas, where the chef bustles all day, and the scents shift from cappuccino in the morning to chocolate pudding at night. Elsewhere’s rambling garden designed by the famed Fernando Tabora is one of the most noteworthy private gardens in Barbados. The winding pathways, pergolas, stream and koi pond are yours to explore. Enjoy a meal in a shady nook or throw a garden party by the circular pergola dripping with Jade Vine. Guests at Elsewhere also enjoy privileged access to the Sandy Lane Beach and a cabana with refrigerator, lounge chairs and umbrellas.

Extra Services

Relax and let the villa's cook / maid look after all the cooking and cleaning. This wonderful service is included in the villa rate.

(Staff usually have one day off a week and are happy to do grocery shopping for a small charge).

Children are welcome at Elsewhere - they will enjoy exploring the many facets of the villa, specially its secret limestone cave and its ancient mahogany grove. Green monkeys visit every morning, tree frogs trill at night, there are mangos and avocadoes to be plucked and a storehouse of children's books awaiting discovery in the study.

Debra, the in-house chef likes to pamper guests, turning each meal into an adventure by serving different dishes atop different crockery in different locations.

Guest Book

"Even though this house is super stylish, there is still that home away from home feel at Elsewhere, with their adorable and professional live in staff who are there to relax you and get your Bajan energy flowing. The outdoor living/ dining rooms are the coup de grace, you'll have a hard time heading out to the beach after being served fresh fruits and chef Deborah's perfect blueberry pancakes here."

Destination introduction

With an almost uninterrupted, six mile stretch of white sand beach, St James truly is Barbados’s ‘Platinum Coast’. Famous for its beachfront mansions, pristine beaches and luxury hotels, St James incorporates the majority of the island’s west coast and is home to three of Barbados’s world famous private estates – Sandy Lane, Royal Westmoreland and Sugar Hill – with their championship golf courses and facilities. The area’s commercial centre is Holetown, a charming area with fine restaurants and shopping. Directly to the south of Holetown are Sandy Lane Beach and the Paynes Bay area extending down to Fitts Village, Derricks and Prospect. ‘The Garden’ is an exclusive enclave to the north of Holetown, by Lower Carlton and Weston.
