Calliaqua

Sleeps up to 10

Calliaqua has all the right ingredients: panoramic sea views, immaculate accommodation, attention to detail and personal service. Combine this with Sugar Hill’s top flight recreational facilities and you have an exotic and varied Caribbean holiday cocktail!

Elegantly furnished throughout, Calliaqua’s design is the epitome of sophistication; white coral walls sit comfortably with Italian marble floor tiles; beautiful tropical carvings enrich the solid wood furniture; archways, guarded by large bamboo plants, frame the magnificent sea view and lead to full length, furnished terraces and balconies. Calliaqua blends these traditional features with the needs of the present, carefully integrating modern luxuries throughout. There are four bedrooms in the main house and one in a delightful guest cottage. Steps from the terrace lead down to a beautifully designed 1000 sq. foot mosaic tiled pool. The spacious pool deck and gazebo offers the perfect venue for outdoor entertaining and for sipping a cooling rum punch whilst watching a glorious Bajan sunset. After dark, shimmering lanterns and chandeliers come into their own, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere.

Destination introduction

With an almost uninterrupted, six mile stretch of white sand beach, St James truly is Barbados’s ‘Platinum Coast’. Famous for its beachfront mansions, pristine beaches and luxury hotels, St James incorporates the majority of the island’s west coast and is home to three of Barbados’s world famous private estates – Sandy Lane, Royal Westmoreland and Sugar Hill – with their championship golf courses and facilities. The area’s commercial centre is Holetown, a charming area with fine restaurants and shopping. Directly to the south of Holetown are Sandy Lane Beach and the Paynes Bay area extending down to Fitts Village, Derricks and Prospect. ‘The Garden’ is an exclusive enclave to the north of Holetown, by Lower Carlton and Weston.
