Dar Arbala

Sleeps up to 14

Just 28 kms from the endless bustle and intrigue of Marrakech, in a rural setting of great beauty, lies Dar Arbala, one of eight luxurious and exclusive villas on the Bab Adrar estate. Set in its own private gardens and with a large private swimming pool, the villa has the most breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountain range, mysterious and awe-inspiring whether frosted with winter snow or wreathed in summer heat haze.

The style is contemporary Moroccan, cool and chic, with the stunning ornamentation that is the signature of Islamic architecture. Rooms are spacious, the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and private terraces, and every bathroom is a triumph of Moroccan tradition and contemporary function. The house is fully-equipped for an effortless holiday, with a library for quiet moments, a shady boules court for some gentle action, and access to the communal hammam/spa, clay tennis court and gym of the estate. The three and a half acre gardens are beautifully landscaped and discreetly enclosed to provide a safe play environment for families with children. Fully staffed with a team of experienced professionals who reside in separate accommodation and are on call at all times, they can also arrange exciting trips to such wonderful places as the Ourika Valley and the Atlas Mountains.

Destination introduction

The rich history of Marrakech is reflected in its various quarters. the Medina, above which rises the minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque, the emblem of the city, corresponds to the old town. Place Jemaa El-Fna, the hub of all activity, is its heart. Within the ramparts are the souks (north of Place Jemaa El-Fna), the kasbah and the mellah (the Jewish quarter). Gueliz in the northwest, is the new town laid out by Marhsal Lyautey under the Protectorate. It is filled with Western style offices and businesses.

Avenue Mohamed V is the district's main thoroughfare. Extending Gueliz in  the southwest is Hivernage, a verdant quarter with many hotels that also dates from the Protectorate. The district is bordered on its western side by the Menara Gardens, and on its eastern side by the walls of the medina.
