Elounda
A series of sumptuous seascapes punctuate the 12km drive from Aghios Nikolaos to its quieter neighbour. A relaxing base, this village makes the most of its pretty waterfront.
An open square backs the harbour, where caique fishing boats rock gently at their moorings and close to the causeway, water's edge cafes and restaurants add a helping of holiday romance with tables set on jetties reflected in the shallows. An echanting and well-placed base for exploration on foot, by car or by boat.
