Located in the western Mediterranean just to the north of Sardinia and southeast of Nice, Corsica is one of the most beautiful places in the world!
Rising majestically from azur waters, the granite mountains of Corsica give the impression of a piece of the Alps that has been dropped in to the sea. Making for majestic, contrasting scenery of cliff-top towns, heady peaks and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, the island is a delight. Centuries of invasion and resistance means that Corsicans are very protective and proud of their wonderful home, with traditional customs, music, and superstition still prominent and extremely important. However ‘invaders’ to the island are now welcomed and invited to share in the ancient folklore, tasty local food and wines, and marvel at the beauty of its landscapes. The heady scent of the maquis, the myrtle, rosemary and juniper that coats Corsica, pleasantly perfumes the cooling sea breeze, welcomed on hot summer days, spent on the islands wonderful beaches, or discovering its hidden secrets.
Corsica really does have something for everyone to enjoy, relatively unspoilt and totally addictive, as beautiful as it is intriguing.
