| The popularity of the cottages at El Puerto del Negro comes as no surprise. The setting is simply idyllic with views, on a clear day, as far as north Africa’s Rif Mountains. The layout is ideal as each cottage is in its own grounds on this exclusive estate. Attractions in the surrounding area include mile upon mile of rural Andalucia to explore with its traditional white villages, each with their individual attractions, as well as historic Ronda and the Neolithic caves near Benojan. Within easy reach are some of the best golf courses in Europe together with local markets and both Mediterranean and Atlantic beaches. This is an ideal area for walking in the Spring, with an abundance of wild flowers. For those not wishing to cook for themselves in the cottages a cook service is available and there are plenty of local restaurants to sample. The white village of Gaucin, with its shops and restaurants, is just 4.5 kms away. In a hillside hollow below the tennis court, Elena Cottage is adaptable for families large or small, as there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the main cottage, and two bedrooms, each with en suite shower room, in a small adjoining guest house (available at extra charge). Well furnished and with a small pool surrounded by shrubs and flowers, Elena makes a splendid retreat with stunning views. |
