| The houses are situated on a large estate that includes a working farm, 5 kms from Gaucin. Once the original farmhouse, Don Toribio has retained a great deal of its old effortless charm. The rooms are furnished simply but comfortably as befits the style of the house and its origins, providing a very relaxing and unfussy setting for the enjoyment of a quiet holiday, The living rooms are housed in one wing of the building, and the bedrooms are in the opposite wing – all having ceiling fans. A delightful covered terrace leads off from the master bedroom and sitting area, perfect for outdoor dining, and an open terrace gives way to the natural ‘rock’ garden and the swimming pool. The pool area is, in keeping with the character of the house in general, neither cluttered nor over-decorated – it relies on the simple assets of shade from the trees beside it, the restful colours of the garden that contrast gently with the pale pink stone terrace, and the gorgeous, far-reaching views. For larger parties, Don Toribio can be combined with Las Barracas and Cortijo de la Arailla, both situated just across the track. This combination would accommodate a party of 12 to 14. |
