| Situated in the Lunigiana, an area of Tuscany which remains relatively untouched by tourism, Il Baffo is a village house with views of olive groves, vineyards and fruit trees and wonderful views towards the mountains in the distance. The property is furnished and decorated in contemporary style using neutral colours of beige, black and white with wooden flooring and beamed ceilings. The entrance hall leads to a comfortable sitting room with attractive dark green leather sofas and further tables and sitting area. There is also a sunny dining room and a well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel fittings and marble work surfaces and sinks. The three bedrooms at first floor level all have adjacent or en suite bathrooms and also all decorated in this smart contemporary style with state of the art white fittings and black mosaic tiling. The kitchen opens onto a large terrace, with brick built barbecue, exterior lighting and dining furniture, the perfect spot for long lazy lunches or candlelight dinners. Steps lead down from here to the swimming pool and pool terrace with ample sun furniture set within a Japanese style garden. A further double bedroom suite with sitting area and shower room opens out to the pool terrace. There is a magical quality to this property with its hilltop setting, surrounding Tuscan countryside. The nearby medieval town of Fivizzano offers food shops and some excellent restaurants. In the warmer months, guests can enjoy food festivals in nearby villages or enjoy hill walking.The villages of the Ligurian coast are within very easy reach. |
