| Set high on its own hillside above the Tuscan town of Ambra, this delightful stone house is the perfect bolt hole from city life. The owner has successfully mixed the old and the new, keeping the original features such as stone fireplaces, open beams and wooden floors whilst providing a very high level of comfort. On the lower floor in addition to a modern open plan kitchen/dining room there are two separate sitting rooms, a small cosy snug room ideal for wintry months as well as a formal summer sitting room which opens out onto a small terrace. An attractive wrought iron spiral staircase connects the entrance hallway up to four bedrooms and an additional sitting room. Paths from both levels of the house lead to the pool area with its decking surround and covered shaded area from which one cannot escape the fabulous countryside views. For lovers of shopping and culture alike Siena, Florence and Arezzo are within easy driving distance |
